Premium processing for I 140

Looks like the USCIS has cleared its backlogs for I-140 applications. USCIS has confirmed through its press release that as of June 29, 2009 it will start accepting applications for I-140 premium processing for most of Eb2 and Eb3 categories.

I remember it took almost 2 years for my I-140 application to get approved. I was not able to apply for premium since they suspended it in late 2007.

Premium processing for I-140 is very similar to the H1b premium processing in that, USCIS charges $1000 fee for guranteed answer -- approval or denial or request for more answer -- within 15 calendar days from the day it receives the application.

  1. Ambals,

What is the use of getting i140 in PRemium Processing when we have to wait for 10 years to file for I485?

  2. @admin -- Now, it might be irrelevant, but if i would have had premium processing when it was current, I wouldnot have waited for 2 years to use my EAD. I satisfied the other 2 criteria like -- 6 months after I 485 and getting EAD. But had to wait for I 140.
